HISTORY
Launched in 1978 as the prototype of quality community living, Lonehill has matured into a sought after suburb offering; top security, convenient shopping and quality educational facilities all packaged in an attractive house proud environment.

SECURITY
The security initiative was launched in in 2000. Since then crime has dropped by a massive 98% . 18 Bobbies on the beat, 4 dedicated vehicles, 2 motor cycles and a network of access controlled streets and complexes help keep crime levels down. The Lonehill Security Initiative relies on Lonehillers support. Homeowners are asked to contribute R1 500 to the security fund and support Fidelity as Lonehills preferred security provider.

EDUCATION FACILITIES
Crawford Schools offer private education from grade 000 to grade 12. There are several crèches and playgroups in Lonehill. Nearby schools include Beaulieu, Summit, Dainfern, St Peter’s, Heron Bridge and Fourways High.

SHOPPING CENTRES
The expansion of the Lonehill Shopping Centre is nearing completion. Conveniently located in the center of the suburb, tenants include; Woolworhs, Pick ‘n Pay, Clicks and 12 dining establishments. 2 Cinemas will be opening in the near future. Fourways Mall, Crossing, Valuemart, Pineslopes are all situated nearby.

ENVIRONMENT
Lonehill remains one the most attractive and well maintained suburbs in Johannsburg. Various parks and walking trails are well maintained by The Estate manager and his team. Financial contributions from Lonehill Residents help keep Lonehill looking. The Lonehill Koppie is a small nature reserve overlooking the Lonehill Dam and childrens playpark.

COMMUNITY
Lonehill has one the most pro-active residents associations. Besides security and environment they monitor road plans, rezoning applications and host social events such as the Otter Estates Fun Run/Walk, The Lonehill Fun Day and The Concert in the Park.
